Alba Moreno gives Broncano a 4.5 billion-year-old meteorite

The La Resistencia program, presented by David Broncano, had a very special guest in its latest installment: Alba Moreno, a 22-year-old from Seville who is challenging all stereotypes by becoming one of the main online scientific disseminators, with more than half a million followers on his TikTok account.

The physics student gave Broncano a very special gift: a 4.5 billion-year-old meteorite. "It is a chondrite that formed when the solar system was forming," Moreno explained. In addition, the gift was accompanied by the certificate of authenticity to prove that it was all real and official.

The meteorite in question was inside a transparent box and, when Broncano wanted to open it to touch the chondrite, it flew towards Moreno, who luckily was able to catch it.

As Moreno explained, "it has a ready part because when it entered the atmosphere it reached very high temperatures, the surface melted, and inside it has little crystals and a little iron and nickel."

As detailed in the certificate of authenticity, although it is a 4.5 billion-year-old meteorite, it arrived on Earth recently, specifically in the year 2000 and in Africa.

Born in Alcalá de Guadaíra, Seville, Moreno's passion for science dates back to her childhood. Her interest led her to study Physics at UNED, where she found the perfect platform to share her knowledge on TikTok.

What started as an attempt to create a community interested in physics has become a platform with massive reach, where thousands of people search for his videos to understand why space is dark or what the origin of the northern lights is, for example. For example, because of the pleasant way and with a touch of humor in which he explains it.

Moreno stands out especially for breaking deep-rooted stereotypes about what a scientist should be like. His casual aesthetic and long nails challenge the traditional image of the white-coated researcher. Not only is he breaking down barriers in the world of science, but he is also redefining who can be a reference in this field.
