Lithotripsy is a common procedure that involves removing stones from the urinary tract, which is why Peris-Mencheta used an ironic term when beginning his explanations. Since January, the actor has been publishing and commenting on the progress and operations that he is undergoing, such as chemotherapy or the bone marrow intervention that he underwent at the beginning of the treatment, noting “significant” changes in his physical appearance. .
Since she began treatment for cancer, Peris-Mencheta has defended the importance and need of donating bone marrow. “There are many misconceptions about donating bone marrow and stem cells, especially that it is burdensome or painful. But thanks to advances in technology, the donation process is much simpler than before,” she expressed through a thread she published on X (Twitter).
“Millions of people are already in the international registry, which allows 90% of patients in need of a bone marrow transplant to find a compatible donor. The more people who sign up, the more chances there are of finding compatibility for those who need it,” he commented, adding at the end of his explanations a link to the Josep Carreras Foundation, which supports research on leukemia.
