A team from 'Espejo Público', attacked during the eviction of a squatted house

The squatting of houses is an issue with a growing concern among society, finding in some cases violent people who are located inside the houses without giving their foot to twist when it comes to leaving. That is precisely what they talked about this Wednesday in Espejo Público, although not without problems.

And it is that the team displaced this Wednesday to Majadahonda to comment on the eviction of a squatted building has resulted in several moments of the most violent. So much so that the very group of journalists who have moved to the Madrid town have been attacked by squatters.

In fact, it is not the first time that a team from the program has had to travel to this accommodation where they have begun to throw objects out of the windows, even to expel the security forces and onlookers from the area. Also to the Espejo Público team.

And that a few months ago the journalist who has traveled to the place managed a few months ago to go up to one of the houses and thus find out the situation of its inhabitants. However, this time has been different. "We have tension in our bodies because just two minutes ago a hooded boy just appeared because he doesn't want us to record his face," she pointed out.

However, despite the circumstances, this journalist has managed to speak with one of the squatters. “Around 6:00 a.m. I heard screams, I looked out the window and found people dressed in black taking people out of the building. I didn't understand anything, I thought it was a discussion between neighbors," he said.

At that point, he added, "I went down to the next floor, because I live on the third, and I find the vacant houses with extension cords, spraying pepper, the boys crying, women lying on the floor... It was chaos , that is not done, it is inhumane. We have asked that they leave us and that when they are going to take us out they give us a court order and we leave without any problem. Let them keep the building, but don't do that because it's inhumane." A very tough situation for which he has preferred to hide his face from the program.
