A single man from 'First Dates' has an 'earth swallow me' moment after an awkward question from his date: 'I didn't want to hurt your feelings'

The most popular dating space on the small screen, First Dates, closed its doors for another week. On Friday night, viewers of the program were able to enjoy a new batch of romantic dates between different diners, which featured totally unexpected endings.

One of the main couples of the night was Miguel and Concepción. The 61-year-old Valencian bachelor arrived at the restaurant claiming to be a "very flirtatious" man. ''I like to leave the house with my hair well done, with my clothes well put on and my shirt well ironed,'' he said. In the past, he had been a soccer player on a third division team. ''I would have liked to dedicate myself to football professionally, not as an amateur,'' he said. He wanted to find a woman with a good heart and who liked to dance bachata.

His date was going to be Concepción, a 58-year-old Valencian who loved making different plans on the weekends. The first impression among the singles was quite normal. ''I've seen him well, I don't give the man a but. "He is taller than me," she declared.

After discovering their places of residence, the presenter accompanied the couple to their table, where they began the evening talking about their hobbies. The single woman said that dancing was one of her great hobbies. ''I like to dance bachata, I defend myself,'' he explained. ''I like that, I like that dance,'' she confessed. Another of their points in common was the beach, although Miguel confessed that he did not travel much. ''I have been to many countries, but when I was married,'' said the Valencian.

At one point during the evening, the First Dates restaurant was transformed into a dance floor, where singles showed off their best dance moves. ''I liked that he kept the rhythm because there are men who don't keep the rhythm,'' she commented. However, Concepción's lack of skill with bachata causes Miguel's total disappointment. ''She dances the basics, two steps there, two steps here, don't take her out of there,'' he said.

In the final stretch of the dinner, the singles opened up about their previous relationships and what they thought of each other. ''What did I think of you?'' the single woman asked, creating an awkward moment, since the bachelor had confessed on more than one occasion that Concepción was not the prototype of the woman he liked. Even so, Miguel, who was very careful with his words, chose to be gallant instead of confessing the truth. ''You have a very pretty face, you are very well and I will leave the rest for last,'' he said.

''I didn't want to hurt his feelings, I've never had that courage. When I don't like a woman I tell her but in other words,'' the bachelor stated. Therefore, in the final decision, Concepción was greatly surprised when she discovered Miguel's rejection, even though she was not willing to have a second date with him either.
