Daniel Sancho, 29, was arrested on August 5, when he confessed to the murder and dismemberment of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta on the tourist island of Phangan, in the south of Thailand, allegedly after having received threats and pressure from the Colombian. It has been possible to hear his confessed murderer and all the details that would have led him to commit the atrocious crime, but not the victim.
Until now, more than a month later, an unpublished interview with the Colombian surgeon has come to light in which he reveals the future plans he had in Spain together, precisely, with Daniel Sancho.
A surprising interview published posthumously by the magazine ¡Hola! and which reveals what the doctor's most immediate business plans were, which included settling in our country and giving shape to an ambitious gastronomic project together with his now confessed murderer.
This interview dates back to last January and was granted to the Colombian edition of the aforementioned publication. The health worker was interviewed as a renowned person in his country and his experience in the field of plastic surgery. Among other things, he also confesses to having plans to open a practice in Spain, given the growing number of patients he was having.
"They keep calling me, especially from the Middle East," confessed the surgeon, who often traveled to other parts of the world to practice his profession. What's more, given his success, he had already opened a consultation in Santiago, Chile.
Now, his plan was to settle in Spain, at least temporarily, this very 2023. Arrieta confessed that "apart from expanding my practice in Spain, a gastronomic project is coming up, which is another of my passions."
A passion that would have been shared with Daniel Sancho, with whom she had a relationship that lasted just over a year, until the young man ended the surgeon's life. Rodolfo Sancho's son was immersed in the gastronomic world, and even had his own YouTube channel, Puro Disfrute, where he shared recipes of all kinds.
According to one of Arrieta's closest friends, Carlos Zuleta, this relationship was "hidden", but he had the intention of "formalizing it as a de facto couple." Specifically, in Barcelona, where Arrieta would have already been looking at apartments to buy. Among the Colombian's most immediate plans was not only to partner with Daniel in the world of hospitality, but also to open two cosmetic surgery clinics.
Meanwhile, his confessed murderer remains in provisional detention awaiting trial in Koh Samui prison. His father, actor Rodolfo Sancho, traveled to the country a few days ago to visit his son. The protagonist of The Lady assured upon his return that he leaves "calmly" after visiting his son, due to the good treatment of the authorities.
"I am pleasantly surprised, I have been very calm (...). Daniel is very well taken care of by tremendously kind people, which is what I have realized are the people in this country" explained Sancho still from Bangkok, before traveling to Spain this Saturday.
