Video: the car that crashed on the Niagara border flew dozens of meters before exploding

The car that exploded this Wednesday on a bridge over the border between the US and Canada, near Niagara Falls, flew dozens of meters before exploding, as seen in a recording captured by the security camera of one of the border controls and broadcast by US media.

In the images, you can see how the vehicle advances at full speed without taking into account the layout of the road. In that section, drivers have to turn slightly to the right through a curve before border control.

The car is thrown, collides with the median and gains height until it flies for several meters. "The car was going at an extraordinary speed," explained New York State Governor Kathy Hochul. The person in charge even described it as a "surreal flight." After the impact, the car caught fire and exploded. The two occupants of the car died.

The explosion of the vehicle caused all the alarms to go off, due to the possibility of a terrorist attack. It should be remembered that the US is on maximum terrorist alert and that the authorities fear that radicalized individuals or organizations could act in response to the war between Israel and Hamas.

However, Hochul ruled out hours later that it was a terrorist action, although he did not know the reason for what happened on this bridge near Niagara Falls.

FBI investigators believe the driver was a regular casino gambler and frequently crossed the border between the two countries. Apparently, the man had no criminal record.
