The Terminal Hub, the new technological hub that will bring together the Valencian innovative ecosystem, will open its doors next summer. Located in the epicenter of innovation, La Marina de València, the space will bring together more than 500 positions for startups and highly qualified technology companies.
The architect and industrial engineer Ricardo Orts has been in charge of directing the rehabilitation project of the emblematic building from the eighties of the old Valencia maritime station. The works, which began in May 2023, are progressing at the planned pace and have an investment of 5 million euros of Valencian private capital.
With 5,000 m2, the space has been conceived in a "constant dialogue with the sea", trying to make the most of the environment and existing infrastructure. For this reason, they explain, they have opted for glass to ensure that natural light filters into the interior and the uniqueness of the building and the character given to it by the concrete structure and its cable-stayed cantilevers have been respected.
“It is a space in which we have opted for flexibility so that its rooms can adapt to the constant changes and the different needs that arise not only now, but also in the future,” explains Ricardo Orts, architect and industrial engineer. of the project. “We have optimized to the maximum the energy offered by the location and orientation of the building and its natural lighting,” says Orts, co-founder of the Valencian studio EquipoTécnico, specialized in interventions and renovations of unique buildings such as the Museum of Fine Arts of Valencia or the Palace of the Marquis of Dos Aguas.
The building has a ground floor with a restaurant area, a flex coworking space, with about 120 positions for nomadic workers, a conference room open to the sea, training classrooms and a terrace for more recreational events. .
The first floor will be the place where companies will be located with closed spaces that provide them with independence, as well as rooms and cabins of different sizes for meetings. Finally, the third floor will have about 300 permanent positions plus meeting rooms and a private canteen with a terrace.
