The Remences-Energy Tools, a consolidated cycling tour with a very supportive face

On May 14, a new edition of the La Remences-Energy Tools cycling tour will be held. A true classic on the Catalan cycling calendar, La Remences will celebrate its 26th edition this 2023, which is said to be soon.

As it has always been, the Bas Cycling Club will be in charge of ensuring that everything flows perfectly. The race, which will have two different routes, will have the usual massive deployment of volunteers so that all those registered can spend an ideal day on their bicycles.

The two itineraries available, the harder one of 175 kilometers with 2600 meters of elevation gain and the short one of 100 kilometers with 1280 meters of elevation gain, will pass through Catalan municipalities with great historical value such as Olot, Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Ripoll or Manlleu.

Apart from pretty villages there is also room for demanding climbs. Those who decide to face the long route will be able to put themselves to the test in one of the most select ports in all of Catalonia: Coll de Bracons. 8.6 kilometers at 7.5% average slope with its hardest part located at the end of the ascent that contains 14% rapas. A climb for true agonists that those registered must overcome with more than 100 kilometers on their legs.

Unlike other cycling tours where the number of volunteers can be scarce, in La Remences there have always been plenty of them. Once again they intend to mobilize more than 500 volunteers spread throughout the route to which we must add cars, motorcycles and ambulances that will ensure the safety of the participants. This magnitude implies proof.

The organization wants to improve itself again and if the available places are covered, the march would beat its absolute maximum participation. The objective? Gather more than 3,000 cyclists eager to enjoy pedaling next May 14 in Sant Esteve d'en Bas, the start and end point of the race.

In addition to a consolidated proposal within the cycling sector, La Remences is also a march with a very supportive aspect. In each edition, part of the collection is allocated to different non-profit NGOs. This 2023 Oncolliga, the Albert Bosch Foundation, the Impulsa Foundation and Cáritas have been chosen. An action that demonstrates how cycling is capable of transcending beyond sport.

From PlanetaBici.com we will be present to pedal live every kilometer of this edition of La Remences-Energy Tools and tell the experience. However, you still have time to sign up and live in your own skin this magnificent cycling tour.
