The Generalitat Valenciana activates today the Travel Bonus inherited from the Botànic to travel until December

This Friday the first 2,000 new codes of the Valencian Community Travel Voucher have been launched, the measure that emerged after the pandemic to reactivate the tourism sector and which seems to have come to stay. The new Consell ratified its maintenance a few weeks ago, although it promises changes with respect to the design left by the Botànic.

Thus, starting today, with the codes issued on the official website, Valencians will be able to start traveling during the last quarter of 2023. Specifically, between September 18 and December 22 of this year, which corresponds to the second period of the program, and in any of the tourist establishments attached to the initiative. They will be able to book both the stay and the complementary services, which also have bonuses, including meals, health and wellness treatments, sports activities or excursions.

In this regard, the Minister for Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Nuria Montes, explained that throughout September new vouchers will be issued to enjoy stays in the Valencian Community with a discount of 60% of the total reservation. The objective is "to be able to extend the good occupancy figures registered this summer in the Valencian Community, as well as to contribute to the seasonality of tourism in the rest of the months until the end of the year", she has stressed.

"With this -he continued-, the 2023 edition is reactivated, still in force, and which plans to inject, directly, in the coming months close to 4 million euros in the tourism sector of the Valencian Community". Likewise, the councilor has reiterated that "Turisme is working on a new edition of the Travel Voucher for 2024 with some novelties", with the aim of reaching a greater number of beneficiaries.

Likewise, Nuria Montes has also explained that the new reservation codes launched this Friday are part of the edition of the Bono Viaje 2023 program and has remarked that "they have been distributed among the waiting list that has been active since the edition was launched of this program, in January 2023”. It should be remembered that the bonuses are distributed following the order of the waiting list in force since January, which can be consulted on the program's website.

The Voucher Voucher 2023 program is endowed with a total of 15 million euros, of which nearly 11 million have been allocated to the first period, between January and May of this year, and which registered nearly 30,000 reservations, which means around 90,000 people benefited.

Regarding the balance of this first period of 2023, the average amount per reservation has been higher than 635 euros, with an average stay of 2 nights, with Benidorm, Calp, Finestrat, Peñíscola and Altea being the most popular destinations. This initiative to stimulate domestic demand has enabled an economic impact of close to 19 million euros to be mobilized in the first half of the year.
