Shimano, a true support for cycling

Shimano is one of the giants of the cycling world. Virtually any cyclist equips himself with one of his products, whether in the components of the bicycle or in the material with which he dresses.

But the Japanese brand is much more than a reference in transmission systems and products for cyclists. They are also a continuous support for the development of sports events, whatever the level.

Thanks to your support, many races can be held around the world. Surely, their best-known participation is in the Grand Tours, where they offer neutral support in each of the stages.

This function, sometimes undervalued, is essential to guarantee the correct development of the tests. Using their blue motorcycles and cars, they provide assistance to runners who need it and who, for whatever reason, do not have a team car at the right time.

Shimano develops this function in Grand Tours, but also in week-long tours or classics. In addition, many of the teams that participate in these competitions are also equipped with brand products: transmission and braking groups, wheels, pedals, shoes, helmets...

Likewise, the brand promotes the lower categories of this sport. They sponsor several training teams, such as GW Shimano-Sidermec. In this way, they manage to provide talent to help them take the final leap.

On the other hand, they also sponsor hundreds of sporting events in other disciplines and categories. We are talking, for example, about the Shimano Super Cup Massi or the Mallorca 312 at the national level, or the World eBike Series and the UCI Gravel World Series, with their multiple annual events.

In another sense, Shimano participates and supports the celebration of cycling fairs, such as Sea Otter Europe. Another detail of his involvement in the sector.

Without all this support, many cyclists would lose the opportunity to enjoy this sport 100%. We are not talking about the professional circuit, which is already self-sustaining, but about these small races or local events that need financial, logistical support and visibility to be able to move forward.
