New challenge in Audi snow driving courses: they can now be done at night

Discover the performance of the German brand's sportiest models, check out the potential of quattro traction, learn driving techniques and resources to improve driving skills in situations of extreme low grip and have fun in a safe environment with advice and instructions from experienced instructors. All this and much more is what Audi's snow and ice driving courses offer, an exciting experience that this year adds new incentives.

As is tradition when the winter season arrives, the Audi winter driving experience driving courses take place in the ski resorts of Baqueira Beret and Sierra Nevada, although the Andalusian proposal has a distinctive and unique element in our country, different from any other. another similar activity organized by an automobile firm. This is the night winter experience, a more extreme experience in a challenging night circuit that is enabled once the resort closes its doors and the skiers leave. Another notable novelty this year is the Audi ice experience in Finland, an unforgettable 4-day trip 200 kilometers from the Arctic Circle.

During this intense experience, which this season will take place between March 8 and 11, participants enter a new dimension of driving behind the wheel of the Audi RS4 Avant on a 10 km route that runs over frozen lakes. In addition to pushing their ice driving skills to the limit, clients will be able to enjoy the immensity of Finland's winter landscape complemented by exclusive accommodations and an additional snowmobile tour, along with other top-notch leisure activities.

The ski resort in southern Spain is one of the locations where the sessions organized by Audi are held, both for customers and non-customers, which maintain the same format launched in 2023, with day and night courses. The models that can be driven in these activities, accompanied by professional instructors, are the Audi TT RS Coupé, the S3 Sportback, the RS 3 Sportback, the RS e-tron GT and the Q4 e-tron.

The Audi night winter experience driving course, which takes place once access to the slopes is closed to skiers, is the most daring way to test the range on an illuminated route, a unique format only replicated in Europe in another ski resort. France. After practicing emergency braking maneuvers, cornering in low-adhesion situations and slalom, participants apply what they have learned by riding on a nighttime ice and snow circuit with large slopes and a route that is as technical as it is fast.

In the Audi winter driving experience course, after a first theoretical class, we work on the different scenarios prepared and delimited with cones during the day and with illuminated beacons at night to improve the students' ability to react to the behavior of the vehicles. on low adhesion surfaces. The exercises designed by Audi instructors are designed to learn how to dose braking power, control the roll of the car or get out of situations such as lack of grip when taking sliding curves. All of this, making the most of the effective quattro traction, the best ally in this type of situation, whether with a powerful gasoline sports car or a battery-electric one.

The Arán Valley ski resort continues to have the spectacular circuit launched last year, a route that was expanded by more than 8,000 m2 to reach a total area of 20,000 m2 and further improve the dynamic winter experience in Baqueira Beret.

Likewise, attendees can also participate in the Audi Mountain driving experience, the course designed to improve safety when driving on mountain roads in adverse weather conditions behind the wheel of models such as the Audi RS e-tron GT or the Audi Q8 e-tron. , which ends with a session on the ice and snow circuit to put into practice what has been learned and manage critical grip situations.

The difficult weather conditions experienced this year, with little snowfall in both the Lleida Pyrenees and the Granada peaks, have limited the availability of dates. The courses have been taught every weekend from January 13 to February 25, 2024 and the price is 355 euros (315 euros for Audi customers).

For its part, the Audi night winter experience courses, which have been held on Fridays in January and February, amount to 460 euros (420 euros for Audi customers). Both experiences include two ski passes at the resort, the transfer of Salomon ski equipment for a day and lunch for one person at the La Alcazaba Restaurant; or a dinner at the Rumaykiyya hotel in the case of the night course.
