Mobilvetta Admiral K5.1: the ingenious camper with an extendable kitchen and a hidden bathroom

Being a disruptive consumer is not only linked to the most aesthetically risky products. Having a high purchasing power, and traveling in a camper, also means fleeing from the conventions associated with impersonal and excessive luxury hotels. That does not mean that exclusivity, sophistication and good taste are not sought, as in a Mobilvetta Admiral K5.1.

Large volume campers stand out for offering a unique combination between the best of motorhomes and campers. It is a compact vehicle, so its versatility allows you to easily travel with them without giving up the complete equipment of a bathroom, shower, kitchen, refrigerator and double bed.

The success of this segment is relatively recent and occurs due to the need to escape from routine, but to a certain extent. Premium and high-quality models were a matter of time, so let's find out what is special about this Italian model.

The measurements of the Mobilvetta Admiral K5.1 are 5.99 m in length, 2.05 m in width and 2.65 m in external height, with an internal height of 1.89 m. It is a detail to take into account, given that there are other similar models with greater distance to the ceiling and it can be uncomfortable for very tall people.

Just with a first glance you know that you are looking at a luxury model. The gray bodywork is reserved for the highest segments, as well as the two-tone wheels and the decorative elements of the bodywork. In addition, the driver and co-driver seats are finished in leather, as well as the steering wheel and gear lever.

Indeed, no matter how sophisticated the furniture and design of this Mobilvetta Admiral K5.1 is, the chassis is still a 140 HP Fiat Ducato with a manual gearbox. Its price, of more than 77,000 euros, would be more justified with a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter base, but it manages to resemble the driving performance of the star with good acoustic insulation in the cabin.

Beyond the good Italian taste, which is evident in the choice of shiny wood combined with white and chrome details, the most successful thing about this large volume camper is its modularity. In addition, it has good cargo space in the rear area, under the transverse bed, and has space for two butane and propane cylinders.

But what has surprised us the most, without a doubt, is the extendable kitchen, a simple but rarely seen solution to date. It is a simple mechanism that allows you to expand the surface of the kitchen, occupying the passage area of the side sliding door, to reveal the sink and, in turn, offer access to an extra storage space.

In this way, we have more surface area to prepare the meals that we will cook on the stove. The small refrigerator is enough for a couple, as are the clean and gray water tanks of 85 and 90 liters, respectively. The bathroom also uses modularity to play with spaces, giving more or less space to the shower or chemical toilet depending on our needs.

The configuration of this Mobilvetta Admiral K5.1 is traditional, with the transverse bed that allows it to contain its size in the 5.99 meters long. If that detail does not concern us, we can always opt for other available layouts: twin beds or central bed. In both cases, the model reaches 6.36 meters in length and gains some space for the bathroom area.
