Kia presents its latest 7-seater electric SUV

The new Kia EV9 embodies the transition towards total electrification of the Korean manufacturer's automobile range. Designed and manufactured for modern lifestyles of this new era that we have just inaugurated, it is the brand's first three-row electric SUV. Robust and sophisticated at the same time, it is also a technologically advanced car and constitutes a new reference, with ecological materials that set new standards in environmentally friendly mobility. In doing so, it reaches a milestone by being the first Kia model to adopt the brand's three-step design sustainability strategy.

A strategy that consists of gradually eliminating the use of leather, applying ten essential sustainable elements to all new Kia models and continuously increasing the use of bio-based materials, such as corn, sugar cane or natural oils.

The EV9 GT-Line is available with all-wheel drive with a 99.8 kWh battery powered by Kia's fourth-generation technology. It uses two electric motors of 141 kW each and a total power of 385 HP. The top speed is 200 km/h and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. The approved autonomy is 505 km, although in the city this figure can increase thanks to Kia's energy recovery system.

On the other hand, it can charge ultra-fast with 800 volts, meaning users can spend more time driving and less time charging. Just 15 minutes of charging results in an increase in range of up to 223 km. It also incorporates the well-known Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, which allows its owner to use the car battery for other uses. For example, to charge computers, smartphones, camping equipment or even charge the battery of another electric car.

The new Kia EV9 is now available in two versions, both with all-wheel drive: EV9 AWD GT-Line 7 seats (85,100 euros) and EV9 AWD GT-Line 6 seats (86,200 euros). The Korean brand includes in the price the home charger, a 3-year free subscription to the Kia Charge Advance rate and the Ionity rate. In addition to a free recharge on the public network worth 1,150 euros and 3 years of official maintenance. All it included in the price.

Large, spacious and technological, the EV9 continues the family of electric vehicles started with the EV6. It is built on the basis of the EV6 and uses the same modular platform created exclusively for electric vehicles (E-GMP). Kia creates a new design philosophy that seeks a unique balance of natural elements. The exterior of this advanced SUV, which measures five meters in length, conveys a feeling of serenity, but also robustness. And the long wheelbase allows for a spacious and comfortable interior.

The seats are designed to meet different needs. It can have six or seven seats, depending on the interior configuration. With the relaxation type seats in the second row, it is possible to recline completely. And with the option of swivel seats, those in the second row rotate 180º to allow conversations with the occupants of the third row. In the driving position, the logo on the steering wheel lights up when the car is started, and the dashboard has a minimalist horizontal design, with the concept of an extended screen. And the mirrors can be digital.

Kia has studied a wide range of functions for users of its new family SUV. Without having to take the car to the dealership, the owner will be able to update all of his vehicle's software remotely and at any time with the Kia Connect Store. There is even the possibility of obtaining an increase in performance through the optional Boost function. Or add digital functions and services of all kinds.

In safety and driving assistance systems (ADAS), it is worth mentioning the intelligent remote parking assistance 2 (RSPA 2). This technology allows you to park the EV9 remotely, from your smartphone and outside the vehicle. It also includes the latest generation of highway driving assistance (HDA 2) as standard. This system combines Lane Following Assist 2 (LFA 2) with Hands-off Detection (HoD).

In this way, we can maintain a certain distance and speed with the vehicle in front. Lane Change Assist, which was also included in the previous generation HDA, helps change lanes when the driver turns on the turn signal. And the vehicle will automatically change lanes in the indicated direction when it is safe to do so.
