He gives his daughter a Lexus car and criticism rains down: "Today's children"

Some parents can't resist rewarding their children, but not all are willing to make the same outlay: an afternoon at the movies, a dinner at their favorite restaurant, clothes, a cell phone or a trip. There are many options.

However, it is not very common to give a car, even less a high-end one, although there are parents willing to make a significant outlay for their children. That was the case of a young woman whose parents gave her a Lexus car, a story that has gone viral on TikTok.

According to several videos published by user Marlig Esteban, she and her partner had planned to surprise their daughter with the vehicle. In one of those clips, she sees how the young woman removes the brand's cover to reveal her gift. "You deserve it daughter, enjoy it," her mother wrote in one of her TikTok videos.

But the gesture has received dozens of criticisms on the social network, considering that it is a disproportionate gift for the age and achievements of the young woman.

"My oldest son deserves everything. He is a good child. Very hard-working. I feel proud of him, but I wouldn't give him a car. Sometimes, giving them everything is not good," one responds. "You have to give what is fair and necessary to your children. They have to learn humility and respect," adds another.

However, some users believe that these parents have done well. "If I could I would also give my children a car," argues one. "If my dad had those resources, he would do exactly the same or more," continues another.

Given the commotion over the publication, Esteban defends his decision: "Gifts are given because you want to and you can. It has nothing to do with emotions, education or hugs. You would even give your children a plane if you could." "Be happy and enjoy how much or how little life gives us," the mother concludes.
