Eninter approaches 100 million with more purchases

Eninter, a Catalan multi-brand elevator design and maintenance company, is finalizing the purchase of between four and seven companies before the end of the year. “Depending on the operations we close, we will invest between six and ten million euros in acquisitions this year,” says Xavier Martínez Ramo, general director and son of the company's founders, Dámaso Martínez and Rosa Mari Ramo.

The company based in Cornellà de Llobregat has combined organic growth with continuous incorporations throughout its fifty years of history. “In an activity like ours, volume is very important, because it makes it easier to provide quick and efficient service to customers,” says Martínez Ramo. Eninter has acquired 74 companies to date, it has up to seven mentioned above pending and is already looking at the market to continue buying next year. “They are very thoughtful operations because we are a family company, we do not want to go into debt, so we prefer to buy little by little, but continuously,” summarizes the general director.

With this growth strategy, the company expects to close 2023 with 92 million euros in revenue, 8% more than the previous year. By 2024, the forecast is to reach one hundred million in turnover.

Expansion to new markets outside of Spain has been key to its evolution. In 2015 they bought their first company outside, in Milan, and now Italy has become their second market by number of elevators. In this country they have three headquarters. They also have a presence in Switzerland and Portugal. In total, they maintain 7,500 elevators in these three countries, while in Spain they have a portfolio of 46,000 devices. They are also evaluating entries into new markets, for now without a final decision.

Apart from elevator maintenance, Eninter has 2,000 parking doors in its portfolio and has created a technological innovation laboratory. “We develop tools to anticipate possible breakdowns; In this way we renew the elevators before they break down to try to avoid inconvenience to users,” explains the manager.

With a staff of 800, the CEO is proud to have increased salaries by 30% in the last three years. “During the pandemic we did not do ERTE or ERE either, employees value that,” he adds.
