Ducati begins a new and ambitious era in the Spanish market

Volkswagen Group Spain Distribution has announced that it will assume the marketing of the Ducati motorcycle brand in Spain and Portugal -with the exception of the Canary Islands- from January 1, 2024.

In the same way that it happens at the international structure level, Ducati will also be under the umbrella of the Audi Division within the Volkswagen Group Spain Distribution.

This association will make it possible to take advantage of the important synergies that exist between both brands and that will be developed in the coming years. Those responsible for the project affirm that the objective is to make Ducati an even more premium brand and totally focused on the desires and needs of the customer.

The president of Volkswagen Group Spain Distribution, Francisco Pérez Botello, highlights the fact that "we are given an extraordinary opportunity to continue growing as a company and to lead Ducati into a new era in the Iberian market."

For his part, Ducati's general manager for Spain and Portugal, Carlos T. López Panisello, has stated that the brand's strategic priorities will focus on strengthening its premium character and placing the customer at the center. From a commercial point of view, the objective is to position the Spanish and Portuguese markets as the second most important for Ducati in Europe in terms of market share, after Italy.

The CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, Claudio Domenicale, stated that “working with Volkswagen Group Distribution will give us the opportunity to create an even closer relationship with our enthusiasts in Spain and Portugal, thanks to the strong market presence that the company has, to the talent of its team and to the innovation and digitization of its services”.

The Ducati brand is experiencing a sweet moment in its history, both commercially and sportingly. It is a leading manufacturer of motorcycles with a displacement of more than 500 cc, with a solid range of products. In the Spanish market, the objective is to grow until reaching approximately a 7-8% share.

In competition, the Italian manufacturer currently dominates the Moto GP championships with a firm hand -where he won in 2022 with Francesco Bagnaia- and WorldSBK with Álvaro Bautista.
