Andbank and the Andorran women's cycling club Andona presented this Tuesday the sponsorship agreement for the next three years.
The agreement will allow them to take "a step forward" in the competitive aspect, highlighted the director of Andona, Xary Rodríguez, according to a statement from Andbank.
At the same time, Rodríguez has assured that they will have more resources to face "with all guarantees" the participation in the Catalan Cup and in the 4 events of the Spanish Cup and the Vuelta in Osona (Barcelona).
Rodríguez also recalled the beginnings of the club, three years ago, which began as a group of women "passionate about cycling."
The statement states that Andona currently has 298 members, 70% of which are women and has an elite team of 12 cyclists, to which two more cyclists will join next season, one from Tarragona and another from La Seu d' Urgell (Lleida).
In addition, according to the press release, the masters section will also begin in 2024, which "already has 10 cyclists." The club also wants to start a school for young cyclists who want to join and currently girls between 14 and 16 years old have joined.
One of the team's runners, Anna Albalat, commented that there has been "evolution and growth" in the team in all areas, which is why they consider it important to have resources available.
Likewise, they have stated that they want to be "ambitious" and that their goal is to fight to be in the top 5 of the Copa Catalunya.
For her part, Andbank's Country Banking Director, Maria Suárez, has stressed that Andona will be "a benchmark in the country and beyond its borders."
Finally, he added that it is "an honor" for the entity to share the project and give them all the support that is necessary, he said literally, as indicated in the statement.
