Advanced Factories closes its eighth edition with 27,700 attendees and 62 million economic impact in Barcelona

The Advanced Factories industrial automation and robotics event closed its eighth edition this Thursday with 27,756 industrial managers and professionals and 62 million euros of economic impact in Barcelona, as reported by the organization in a statement.

The fair was held at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona), from Tuesday to Thursday, and was closed by the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, who indicated that the priority of Government is to “develop the active role of the industry in our economy and begin to gain points in the weight of the industry in the GDP.” To achieve this, Hereu emphasized innovation to “maintain competitiveness” and the “intensive application of technology at the service of a better industry.”

This has been its largest edition in terms of exhibition space, with 30,000 square meters, and 567 exhibiting companies and 382 speakers have participated. The edition has claimed the importance of increasing the weight of the industry in the industrial GDP and of "relocating production plants."

According to the organization, these objectives "can only be achieved if the industry commits to automation and robotization" to create advanced factories.

The next edition will be held from April 8 to 10, 2025 and will do so simultaneously with AMT - Advanced Machine Tools, the biennial event dedicated to machine tools and the metallurgical industry that held its first edition in Gran Via de Fira de Barcelona last year.
