Adam Foods buys Galletas Camprodón, maker of Birba

The Adam Foods group has acquired Galletas Camprodón, a company specializing in the production of high-quality biscuits and owner of brands such as Birba and Nuria. The operation, the amount of which has not been disclosed, allows Adam Foods to expand its portfolio, which includes brands such as Cuétara or Artiach, and strengthen its presence in the national market.

Galletas Camprodón, founded in 1893, has a factory in the municipality of the same name that employs more than 60 people. Adam Foods has pledged to preserve jobs. "I am delighted to announce the acquisition of Camprodón Biscuits. Birba and Nuria are highly valued brands. We look forward to continuing and enhancing the tradition of excellence in biscuit making that we build on with this acquisition," said Fabrice Ducceschi, CEO of Adam Foods. "We are committed to maintaining employment at Birba and continuing to provide our customers with the same quality," he added.

For his part, Víctor Marsal, until now manager and shareholder of Galletas Camprodón, has described the operation as "an unquestionable opportunity" for the company. "For us, a central factor in the decision to sell to Adam Foods has been its commitment to the continuity of the workers and the way to prepare historic recipes", he stressed.

The company will continue to operate as an independent company within the group. The operation has had the advice of the firm KPMG.

The Adam Foods group is specialized in the production and marketing of biscuits, pâtés, honey, pastries, broths and bread.
