A hamster, a Gucci loafer, a vibrator, and other amazing Uber lost and found

Due to forgetfulness or carelessness, in our car we can find almost everything: sunglasses, lost keys, watches, headphones, notebooks or bottles. The picture is not very different in Uber's chauffeur-driven tourism vehicles (VTC), where customers have forgotten their belongings on more than one occasion, according to the company's seventh annual index of lost items.

Uber's Lost and Found Index provides information on the most forgotten items in their vehicles. It also details which cities were the ones that registered the most mistakes of this type and which days of the week the passengers forgot the most items. In addition, it reminds customers how they can recover any neglected item in one of their VTCs.

According to the study that collects data from 2022, clothes, mobile phones, keys and wallets topped the list of the most commonly forgotten items. They are not the only ones. They have also left unusual items such as a hamster, a small amount of fake blood, a green foam crown of the Statue of Liberty, a Gucci loafer or a remote-controlled vibrator.

The company details in several lists what were the objects that customers left in these cars and which cities have the most clueless users with their belongings.

In addition, in its annual report, Uber lists some of the "one-off" items the driver found: fake blood, a printer, a remote-controlled vibrator, a pin with Jesus holding a slice of pizza, a small camping stove, brochures undertakers, a green foam statue of Liberty crown, a tamagotchi, hamsters, a mannequin wig, six cheesecakes, a Gucci loafer, or a bidet.

The company also explains that it has registered a significant increase in the loss of Disney and Harry Potter items, especially Minnie's ears, light swords or magic wands.

For days, customers forgot their chargers more on Mondays. The most found object in these VTC on Wednesdays were wallets and purses. More watches and jewelry were recovered on Fridays. And on Saturdays Uber drivers often found passports.
