Woody Allen is in love with Barcelona. The New York filmmaker has visited the Catalan capital several times for leisure and work - Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008) filmed in its streets - and this September he will return to these parts to play as a clarinetist with his band, the New Orleans Jazz Band, within the framework of the Voll-Damm Barcelona Jazz Festival.
In principle, his presence was scheduled for a single concert on Tuesday 19 at the Tivoli theater, but due to the great demand for seats, Allen will offer a second show on September 18. They will be the only performances that he will do in Spain.
But his visit to the city of Barcelona will last a little longer, since the author of Annie Hall will also present the exclusive preview of his new film, Golpe de suerte, at the Mooby Aribau Cinema in Barcelona on Sunday 17, which will hit theaters of our country on September 29. You can already buy tickets for the event, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. and are priced at 10 euros.
His 50th film, shot in France and entirely in French, is a story of romance, passion and violence set in contemporary Paris and starring Lou de Laâge, Niels Schneider and Melvil Poupaud. The film will be seen for the first time during the Venice Mostra, where it participates out of competition.
