Watch the sun rise in Bellmunt

In this February dawn that we see in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos, the sun stretches trying to rise above the mountains, a scene seen from the Bellmunt sanctuary.

The views from the Bellmunt sanctuary are impressive, especially when the day begins with the moment of sunrise. And it is located at the highest point of a mountain range, at 1246 meters above sea level.

From this top, within the territory of Sant Pere de Torelló, in the region of Osona, our view dominates the landscape of the Plana de Vic, in addition to reaching such emblematic mountains as Pedraforca.

From the sanctuary of Bellmunt you can also see a series of mountain ranges, among which the Rasos de Peguera massif, the Cadí mountain range and the Puigmal range stand out in the north.

The image preserved in the sanctuary of the Virgin in Bellmunt is a 22-centimeter painted alabaster statuette. As a curiosity, it should be noted that it is also called Verge de les Alades, due to the flocks of winged ants that come up at the end of summer to die at the sanctuary.
