Vox will fight for third place to try to achieve the key to the PP government

Vox begins its electoral campaign with the entry into the central government – as a minority partner of the Popular Party – “as the most likely scenario”, according to sources from the far-right party. Although they publicly say they do not believe the polls and shout that "they are going to win", those from Santiago Abascal are fully aware that their contest is for third place, which they are competing with Sumar. For this reason, during the next two weeks the ultras will intensify their presence in those provinces in which the last seat is at odds with the formation led by Yolanda Díaz.

Vox starts the contest with the polls against him. No survey predicts that he will revalidate the 52 deputies he had in the previous legislature. The most flattering places it at 40 seats, while the most negative give it less than 30 deputies. However, his objective is to add an alternative majority with the PP and that his affirmative vote is vital for a hypothetical investiture of Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

Abascal will wait until this Friday afternoon to inaugurate the electoral campaign with a great act in Valladolid, the city of the first autonomous community in which Vox became part of a coalition government with the popular ones.

Under the slogan "Decide what matters", he will give brushstrokes of the electoral program that he has not yet made public. So far, the only thing the president of the party has advanced is that he will make every vote count for Vox to try to repeal all the "ideological" laws of Pedro Sánchez: from the law of only yes is yes to the law of democratic memory, going through those of euthanasia or housing. Until the end of the campaign, Abascal plans to visit 30 cities accompanied by the party's general secretary, Ignacio Garriga, and the political spokesman, Jorge Buxadé. In addition to the traditional rallies scheduled for late afternoon due to high temperatures, the far-right leaders will also hold meetings with affiliates in towns where they will explain the party's program, proposals and policies.

Among them, Vox will place special emphasis on issues such as language policy, the prices of basic products, energy, housing or education. But without a doubt, as training sources advance, Vox intends to focus the next 14 days on two fundamental issues to attract voters: immigration and security, whipping up fear of migrants, whom it accuses of the alleged serious insecurity problems affecting Spain.
