Vox and Compromís press: there will be no agreement for pacts between Carlos Mazón and Ximo Puig

Carlos Mazón and the representatives of the PSPV confirmed yesterday, after the meeting at the Palau de la Generalitat, that many bridges have been broken since last March 28 and that it will not be easy to establish complicities during this legislature, although in politics nothing is impossible . Even fewer are major pacts that serve to coordinate both troops in order to pressure the Spanish Government to pay attention to the Valencian agenda: financing, investments, debt relief or water.

For the socialists, the alliance of the PP with Vox makes any negotiation framework difficult, for many reasons. The main one, the offensive of the ultra party against the PSPV headquarters and its public positions; but also for Vox's "cultural battle" on issues such as gender violence or climate denialism. And the Valencian president, according to the socialist trustee, Rebeca Torró, who attended the Palau together with Arcadi España, made it clear "that Vox are his partners."

But the PSPV also has pressure, from its left. Specifically, by Compromís. The Valencian party has refused to respond to Carlos Mazón's invitation to discuss the Valencian agenda. The PSPV leadership has not liked the coalition's position at all, who do not see it as logical that they "refuse to dialogue, but do accept their votes to have a place at the Les Corts Valencianes table." Joan Baldoví demanded yesterday that "the PP and Vox clarify their position on the Valencian agenda before calling us."

After the meeting that the president held with Vox, the proposed agreement was announced, which, in writing, has been sent to the political groups of Les Corts. In this proposal, Carlos Mazón establishes as priorities reaching agreements to intervene in the general budgets of the State, in regional financing and to achieve the expansion of the Port of Valencia.

To this end, it proposes creating a working group with regional parliamentary representatives and the Cortes Generales to prioritize investments in the Valencian Community before the PGE 2024. Also convene the Corts-Consell Joint Commission for the ratification of these proposals. At the regional level, the president proposes reaching an agreement for the renewal of the statutory bodies and the creation of a water table for the Valencian Community.

Ana Vega, Vox trustee, commented after the meeting on her party's willingness to address the president's proposal. Regarding the refusal of the PSPV to agree while this formation is a partner of the PP, Vega pointed out that "the socialists do not tear their clothes talking about the extreme right when we are a loyal partner; but not loyal to the Popular Party, let it be clear: loyal to the Spaniards and the Valencians who have voted for us".

The trustee warned once again that her party does not want to agree on anything with someone who "is carrying out a coup d'état from the institutions", in reference to the amnesty and the investiture pacts. It is precisely these types of accusations that, according to the PSPV, make it impossible to establish an institutional dialogue with the PP.
