Valencia locates two suspects of racist insults to Vinícius

Valencia has located two supporters suspected of having uttered racist insults against the Real Madrid player Vinicius, as confirmed by club sources.

In the 73rd minute of the clash, the player went to a sector of the stands and notified the Police that a supporter would have used those insults. In the minutes of the clash, the referee De Burgos Bengoetxea pointed out that he would have called him "monkey" repeatedly.

After viewing the images from the security cameras, Valencia has located two followers of those racist insults and has transferred that information to La Liga. The Mestalla club also confirmed its intention to go "to the end" against those fans if the facts are confirmed.

It must be remembered that in the case of the insults to Iñaki Williams, the Barcelona Prosecutor's Office requested a two-year prison sentence and a fine of 5,500 euros for one of the RCD Espanyol fans.

The events occurred on January 25, 2020 at the Cornellá-El Prat stadium, where Espanyol plays its home matches, and this fan allegedly yelled the monkey onomatopoeia at the moment the Athletic striker was substituted. The cries of 'uh, uh, uh' were denounced and now, more than two years later, the case is moving forward.

It is one of the first complaints made for racist insults in the world of football that can end in a criminal conviction and, therefore, in a jail fine for the offender. Mestalla fans could follow the same path.
