Since last Saturday, the Palau d'Esports l'Illa de Benidorm has been hosting the installation work on the necessary infrastructure for the celebration of the third edition of the Benidorm Fest, the competition organized by Radio Televisión Española, the Generalitat Valenciana and the Benidorm City Council. to elect the Spanish representative of Eurovision, which will be held from January 29 to February 4.

The work will continue for about twenty more days, according to Benidorm City Council. At the moment there are about 150 RTVE workers in charge of assembly, which will increase to 300 starting next week.

The protective floor and some 3,600 square meters of elastic technical floor have already been installed to facilitate the passage of different machinery without causing damage. In addition, lights, stands, stages and other elements will be enabled to adapt the venue and provide it with all the technical needs of a television set.

The assembly will last until January 28. Days before that date, technical tests will begin. Starting on the 26th, rehearsals will begin with the 16 finalists and with the presenters selected by Spanish Television to host this edition's galas.

The two semi-finals will take place on January 30 and February 1, while the grand final gala will be on February 3. This program will be completed with a 'Euroclub' party, on January 31 at the 'Ku' nightclub, and a free concert scheduled for February 2 in the Plaza de la Hispanidad, as well as a new edition of the 'Tapa Fest' in local hospitality establishments.

The public who cannot watch the competition from the Palau d'Esports but want to experience the competition in Benidorm will also be able to follow the galas live from the screens that will be installed at the Tecnohito.

In addition to winning the Bronze Microphone, the winner of the Benidorm Fest will represent Spain in the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held from May 14 to 18, 2024 at the Malmö Arena in the city of Malmö, Sweden.

Today, the Consell has authorized the signing of the collaboration agreement between Turisme Comunitat Valenciana and the Spanish Radio and Television Corporation to promote tourism advertising and communication actions of the Valencian Community on RTVE in 2024 through the organization and celebration of the ' Benidorm Fest.

Through this collaboration agreement, Turisme Comunitat Valenciana will contribute financially to the promotion of tourism advertising and communication actions of the Comunitat with a maximum amount of 1,500,000 euros, an amount identical to that allocated in 2023.

RTVE is in charge of the organization and production of the 'Benidorm Fest', as well as the audiovisual recording and live television broadcast of the three galas on January 30, February 1 and 3, 2024.

It will also be in charge of the conception and design of the 'Benidorm Fest' and the audiovisual production and recording for broadcast on its television channels and inclusion in its interactive digital media with the aim of achieving the greatest possible dissemination and impact for the 'Benidorm Fest'.

The actions corresponding to the object of the agreement consist of the construction of sets on set, filming machinery and transportation, recording and production media, assembly, sound and post-production or the expense of artistic personnel, among other actions.
