As the entity has been able to learn, "this investigation is motivated by the ruling of the Supreme Court in relation to the events that occurred a decade ago, in the 2013/14 season, which paradoxically exempted the club from criminal responsibility in the aforementioned events."

The club has transferred said sentence: "Well, based on the above and making an interpretation in accordance with the principle of guilt of article 31 bis of the Penal Code, in the wording in force at the time in which, indicatively, the crimes of sports corruption for which, if applicable, Club Atlético Osasuna could be criminally responsible, this supplier considers that the aforementioned entity could in no case be criminally liable for the aforementioned crimes, not only for not meeting the aforementioned requirement of an imputable act by way of intent or negligence, but also because another of the necessary elements for the existence of criminal responsibility was not appreciated, which is that the crime was committed 'for the benefit' of the entity”.

"Likewise, it will inform the highest European football body that the people convicted by the Supreme Court in 2023 ceased their duties in 2014 and were discharged as members of the entity in 2015," the statement continued.

Osasuna appeared as a private prosecution, that is, as injured party, in the judicial process that concluded with the conviction of said persons and with a sentence that has forced them to pay the club a large financial compensation that has resulted in the seizure of properties and assets of such persons by the entity.
