Together they accuse the Government of turning the Palau de la Generalitat into "an electoral office"

The announcement of the proposal for a "singular financing model" for Catalonia by the Government of Pere Aragonès when the elections to the Parliament of Catalonia are already called on May 12 has not sat well with Junts per Catalunya, which accuses its former partner of "converting the Palau de la Generalitat into an electoral office" and of "discrediting the institutions."

In these terms, the general secretary of JxCat, Jordi Turull, spoke this Tuesday during a visit to the Fira de Sant Josep de Mollerussa (Pla d'Urgell), in which he also criticized that the Catalan Executive had announced this week, After the electoral advance, the tolls of the C-16 motorway, which connects Terrassa (Vallès Occidental) with Manresa (Bages), and the toll of Cubelles (Garraf) of the C-32 are free in some cases. These measures will come into force in the autumn, as announced yesterday by the Territori Minister, Ester Capella.

After the Minister of Economy and Finance, Natàlia Mas, presented to the media after the meeting of the Executive Council the proposal for a "singular financing model" for Catalonia, Turull recalled that "the singular expression was used by the PP of Alicia Sánchez Camacho".

"We defend our own model, that Catalonia collects 100% of taxes and has the regulatory capacity," added the sovereigntist leader, who has warned the PSOE if its offer for Catalonia, as the central government said shortly after, passes. through multilateral forums with all the autonomous communities sitting at the table. "If the PSOE thinks that Junts will collaborate in the coffee-for-all financing model, they should forget our votes," he warned. The post-convergent formation plans to address the economic and financing aspect in the negotiation space that was agreed upon with the socialists in exchange for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez.

Regarding the fact that the Government is now making public its commitment to a Catalan financing model, the leader of the post-convergents has pointed out that "it has been possible to do so for four years when [Esquerra Republicana] have been decisive for the PSOE in Madrid and have given support to everything." In that sense, he has branded the Republicans' proposal an "election pamphlet."

"We find ourselves with a Government that has turned the Palau de la Generalitat into an electoral office and makes announcements that are neither serious nor credible; they could have been made before and they have not," lamented Turull. "They only dedicate themselves to making announcements of things that they could have done and have not done in years and at the same time there is an incredible neglect of functions," he insisted. On the other hand, he has criticized the Executive for not addressing other aspects such as aid to farmers or prison protests.
