The Civil Guard has arrested three young people between 24 and 26 years old for allegedly participating in an illegal race that took place on the M-45 highway, in the city of Madrid, and spreading it on social networks.
The race took place at dawn on January 21 between kilometers 17 and 11 of the aforementioned highway, the General Directorate of the armed institute has reported.
In the images spread through social networks, two vehicles can be seen circulating in parallel and at high speed, driven by two of those arrested.
Meanwhile, the third detained man drives alongside them, blocking the road and recording the aforementioned video, which went viral on the internet. They all drive large displacement cars of the same brand.
These types of races are intended to place illicit bets among their participants, seriously endangering their own lives and those of other road users, researchers say.
For this reason, the agents of the Traffic Sector of the Madrid Command have arrested them as alleged perpetrators of a crime of reckless driving.
The three young people, residents of the provinces of Madrid and Toledo, have police records for various acts.
