Thousands of Valencians peacefully protest against the amnesty in the squares of their capitals

Freedom without anger, Free, My dear Spain, Long live Spain!, a soundtrack with echoes of the 70s has predominated over the sporadic shouts that have been chanted - Puigdemont, to prison!, the most frequent - by a peaceful and very numerous (15,000 people, according to the first estimate of the Local Police) in the Alicante Town Hall square.

Carlos Mazón, president of the Generalitat Valenciana and the regional PP, has chosen his hometown to proclaim before the crowd the manifesto that his party has repeated in all the provincial capitals of Spain: "No to privilege, no to impunity, no to amnesty".

As has happened in Valencia, where hundreds of people were still heading, when the anthem of the Valencian Community had ended the event, towards the Plaza del Temple, hundreds of stragglers from Alicante still approached it once it was over. They crossed paths with others who showed their intention to go to the PSPV headquarters on Pintor Gisbert Street, where Vox had summoned its members at 1 p.m.

Some 50,000 people attended the València rally, according to the organizers, who raised the flags of Spain, Europe, the PP and also Vox, which joined the protest held in the Plaza del Temple, in front of the headquarters. of the Government Delegation in the Community.

They have chanted slogans such as "Sánchez resigns", "Spain is not for sale" or "Puigdemont to prison", and a photo of the acting president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, has been displayed, characterized as Hitler and with the word "traitor".

The protest took place peacefully, except for one incident when a small far-right group showed a flag, and from the stage, the popular deputy, Esteban González Pons, ordered them to leave the place because they were not "welcome." The mayor of València, María José Catalá (PP), and the vice president of the Consell Vicente Barrera (Vox) also participated in the protest.

In Alicante, except for a couple of Requetés flags, only constitutional Spanish flags and banners of the PP have been seen in the square and its surroundings, represented, in addition to the head of the Consell, by the president of the Provincial Council and provincial president of the party, Toni Pérez, and the mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala.

In the Valencian capital, the speech was given by the deputy in Congress Esteban González Pons, who interrupted it for a few moments to silence a group of ultras. "History will tell that Valencia stood up and said enough to impunity," said Pons.

In the Plaza de la Muralla in Castellón, some 3,000 people responded to the call of the PP, whose leadership supported its provincial leader and president of the Provincial Council, Marta Barrachina, who delivered the popular manifesto. Vox leaders such as the president of Les Corts, Llanos Masó, have also attended.
