What began as an original birthday celebration held in the Barcelona metro last week, ended with hooliganism and acts of vandalism that cost Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona 135,000 euros. The police are investigating what happened.

Around one in the morning, dozens of people flocked to the Jaume I metro station, without anyone being able to stop them. As they passed, they wrote signatures and tags on the walls of the platforms that did not qualify as graffiti.

Subsequently, they moved to the Passeig de Gràcies station and began to vandalize the convoys with markers and spray pens, which caused the service on lines 2 and 4 to be paralyzed for more than ten minutes.

The Deputy Mayor for Security and the president of TMB, the socialists Albert Batlle and Laia Bonet, reported that the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Urban Police are investigating the events, trying to identify those responsible for all this. “We condemn and regret these events,” they both stressed.

A few weeks ago, Luis Benvenuti reported in La Vanguardia, that there were calls for this party on social media. The slogan was more or less let's ride it really hard. The recordings of what happened still run through a few private accounts like @kriminaldamage.

From what has been learned, the celebration was for adults from Barcelona and the party caused other groups to end up joining the party, since the organizers moved around with speakers that broadcast music at full volume.
