A gang of thieves stole at dawn on Monday with the help of hammers and radials an ATM located in the shopping center of the Carrefour supermarket in San Fernando de Henares, police sources have confirmed to Europa Press.
The events took place minutes before at 3:30 a.m. on the 21st in the center located at kilometer 16 of the A-2. The criminals arrived in two stolen cars and, hooded, began to break the main access door to the establishment and its window with axes and hammers.
Once they agreed, they went directly to the bitcoin ATM, which was not anchored to the ground, and took it away. Despite the fact that the security guard called the Police, when the agents arrived, the thieves had already left at full speed in two vehicles that apparently appear stolen.
Between the damage caused and the loot, the amount could reach 20,000 euros, according to the newspaper 'El Mundo'. The Police are now analyzing the surveillance cameras to find the assailants and determine if they are the same group that has robbed this type of ATM in other parts of the region.
