They rescue 30 people at dawn, including a baby, in two boats in Alicante and Benidorm

Thirty immigrants, including a pregnant woman carrying a baby, have been rescued this morning when they were sailing in two intercepted boats 40 miles from Alicante and near the coast of Benidorm. A Maritime Rescue boat has transferred them to the port of Alicante, where they have received assistance from the Red Cross. One of them had to be taken to the hospital for a burn, according to sources from the humanitarian organization.

Yesterday, Sunday, eight boats with 95 people on board arrived on the coast of the Region of Murcia, with a total of 95 people, including several family groups, according to sources from the Government Delegation. In this case, most of the boats did not make landfall, only some in Águilas and Calblanque (Cartagena).

These eight boats are added to the seven arrivals since Friday with 66 passengers. In total there are 15 boats carrying 161 people that have been intercepted arriving at the coast of the Region taking advantage of the good weather conditions.

The first pateras located were attended by the Águilas Red Cross, which informed the competent authorities that it had assisted some thirty immigrants who had arrived in two pateras, one in Cabo Cope and the other in Calabardina.

Subsequently, two other vessels reached the Murcian coast, one in Cabo Tiñoso (La Azohía) and another in Calblanque (Cartagena). To these four we must add another three boats that were intercepted and transferred to the port of Santa Lucía de Cartagena. All have been transferred to the Temporary Attention Center for Foreigners (CATE) in the port city.

Finally, it has been possible to identify and arrest the owners of the boats as alleged perpetrators of the crime of human trafficking.
