They report cracks and landslides at the Badalona Urban Guard headquarters

The SIP-Fepol union has issued a press release in which it alerts the Badalona City Council (Barcelonès North) about the critical structural conditions of the buildings that make up the Urban Guard in the Turó de Caritg. The union organization urgently requests a Technical Building Inspection (ITE) after identifying large cracks and detachments in the facades.

The municipal government remembers that, shortly after arriving at City Hall, they managed a sum of 1.5 million to make improvements to the police station building. Municipal sources assure that the government "is aware that the building needs improvements" and that, once the current emergency is resolved, the works will begin.

SIP-Fepol points out the presence of cracks, leaks and recent landslides on the façade of the Guàrdia Urbana buildings in Turó de Caritg. These structural problems, according to the union, pose an imminent threat to the safety of workers and citizens who use these facilities.

In the opinion of the union entity, the request for an ITE (Technical Building Inspection) is based on the need to prevent tragedies similar to those that occurred in the city recently. "Our union urges City Council to take immediate action to evaluate the structural integrity of the buildings" and ensure the safety of those who interact in the facilities on a daily basis.

In the same protest note they refer to the local and national regulations on the Technical Inspection of Buildings as the legal basis for the request and believe in the importance of complying with these regulations to guarantee the safety of the Urban Guard workers. Therefore, they urgently request that appropriate measures be taken.
