They investigate a law student in Bilbao for defrauding 7,000 euros with the sale of tickets

The Civil Guard is investigating a young man from Bilbao, a law student at the University of Deusto, for having allegedly defrauded 7,000 euros through the fraudulent sale of tickets. The young man would have carried out 50 scams, selling tickets over the Internet that he did not finally deliver to the buyers and taking advantage of his computer knowledge.

The investigation began in March, after a person reported that he had bought two tickets for a football match offered in a website ad. The complainant pointed out that he never received these tickets, despite the fact that he had made the agreed payment.

The modus operandi used, presumably, by the investigated was the following. The young man inserted an online ad for sports or music shows in a web portal and always set prices below market.

That down payment allowed him to get buyers in a short time who, after contacting him, agreed to pay for the tickets through an instant phone payment application. However, despite the fact that these people made the payments, they never received the tickets.

As indicated by the Civil Guard, the young man from Bilbao used a telephone line linked to five bank accounts of different entities and took advantage of his computer knowledge to carry out the scams.

The alleged fraudster, to whom the Civil Guard proposed to return the money collected to those affected, had "previously opened judicial proceedings in which he reached agreements with those affected", as indicated by the armed institute.
