They grant a subsidy of 175,000 euros for families evicted from the El Barco building

The Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (AMB) approved this Tuesday a direct grant of 175,000 euros to help the families evicted from the El Barco building (Esplugues de Llobregat).

This concession has been urgently granted to the municipality's council after 38 families were moved from the property on March 25 due to the risk of collapse. These extraordinary resources are intended to finance the expenses and care actions for those families in a situation of social emergency due to the eviction.

In a statement, the AMB recalled that its priorities, like those of the Esplugues City Council and the rest of the institutions, are the safety of people. Currently, they are working on finding comprehensive solutions adapted to each case as quickly as possible.

On March 3, the governing board also approved the granting of one million euros in subsidies for those affected by the Badalona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet buildings. The amounts, respectively, were 600,000 and 400,000 euros.
