In the trial that began this Monday in the second section of the Barcelona Court and will continue on Wednesday, more than twenty people are being tried for marketing what the Prosecutor's Office has described as a type of cocaine. adulterated, with a short-lasting effect, but extremely harmful, intended for consumers with limited economic resources with serious addiction problems to toxic substances.

After adulterating cocaine and turning it into a particularly toxic and addictive substance, they proceeded to distribute it in a network of established points of sale, which, in most cases, had been occupied by the accused themselves. or third parties.

In its indictment, the public ministry points out that the so-called narco-stories not only served as a point of sale for narcotic substances, but also spaces where buyers could consume the purchased drugs.

Furthermore, the Prosecutor's Office insists that, to avoid being discovered, the accused adopted security measures to hide their activity, such as establishing points of sale in homes protected by the inviolability of the same, carrying out surveillance and avoiding storing large quantities in drug apartments. of money and narcotic substances that could be discovered in an eventual entry and search.

The twenty-four defendants are charged with an alleged crime of belonging to a criminal group, for which the prosecutor requests up to two years in prison, and another aggravated crime against public health, for which they request up to nine years in prison, and fines that They amount to 300,000 euros.

Two of the twenty-four defendants are also accused of a crime of electricity fraud, for which the Prosecutor's Office requests a fine of 4,500 years, in addition to the penalties for the other two crimes.

The public prosecutor's office is requesting a total of 12 years in prison for one of the accused, who, in addition to the crimes mentioned, is charged with a crime of injuries for which the prosecutor proposes three more years in prison.
