After two years in preventive prison for the murder of a 14-year-old girl from Alcalá la Real (Jaén) after sexually assaulting her, the perpetrator of the events, 24 years old, faces the request for permanent, reviewable prison. Prosecutor's Office.
The events of which he is accused, and which he himself confessed, took place on February 15, 2022 in the ruins of the Santo Domingo Church, in the vicinity of the La Mota Fortress. It was around 9:00 p.m. when the detainee called the Emergency Room to confess that he had killed the minor, although he refused to collaborate with the Police and Civil Guard agents when they arrived at the scene. It was after carrying out several raids that they found the victim's body, naked, in an area that was difficult to access.
That it was a case of gender violence was one of the possibilities that were considered at first, although shortly after it was demonstrated that there was no romantic relationship between the minor and the boy, neither at that time nor before.
It is the first time that the Prosecutor's Office requests permanent reviewable prison in Jaén, to which is added the request of the Public Ministry to impose another 15 years in prison for the rape of this minor. The case will be judged on May 27 at the Jaén Court and will be done under the jury court procedure.
The events, according to the document from the Public Prosecutor's Office, took place around 8:13 p.m. on February 15, 2022 when the accused, who "only knew of having met her on two occasions, one of them, that same afternoon ", went to the ruins of Santo Domingo, in the vicinity of the La Mota Fortress, with "the excuse of showing him the views that there are of Alcalá la Real from that place.
The Prosecutor's Office reports that "once there they climbed up to a hole in the side wall of said Church at a height of more than two meters, for which they had to use a wooden ladder that was leaning there." It was then when the accused, as reported by the Prosecutor's Office, tried to "overstep his bounds by giving the minor a kiss," to which she refused.
From there the events unfolded and the minor ended up murdered by asphyxiation and also raped. She didn't stop there, when the minor was already dead, the accused took photos of her and sent them to a friend.
Next, around 9:36 p.m., the accused called 112 to say that he had killed a girl and to say where he was calling from. Members of the Civil Guard, as well as the Local Police and Firefighters, traveled to the scene of the events. The now accused was located in the grounds of the Fortaleza de la Mota, but at no time did he collaborate when it came to indicating where the minor's body was. Finally, and after several raids, the girl's body, lying without clothes, was located in a difficult-to-access place.
In addition to the permanent reviewable prison and 15 years for a crime of sexual assault, without any type of mitigating circumstance, the Prosecutor's Office contemplates that the accused compensate the parents and brother of the deceased in 480,000 euros.
The accused has been in jail since on February 18, 2022, the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 2 of Alcalá la Real ordered provisional detention for the young man as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of murder and sexual assault.
Although initially the accused was transferred to Jaén prison. The attack on two officials led to him being taken to Albolote prison (Granada), where he is awaiting trial.
