A 38-year-old driver has been arrested by agents of the Civil Guard of Vera (Almería) for driving, with obvious signs of drunkenness, with a large truck in the opposite direction to the traffic on the A-7 highway between Murcia and Almería .
Several patrols received an urgent notice from the command and control center (062) alerting them to the presence of the aforementioned truck, whose circulation presented a serious danger to traffic safety.
The agents intercepted the truck after establishing a preventive security device to avoid possible accidents resulting from the unexpected presence of said vehicle.
Although they activated all the emergency systems and safety components to tell the driver to stop driving, he initially ignored them. Only about fifty meters from the police vehicle, the truck finally stopped on the right side of the highway and turned off its lights, which in turn created a situation of extreme danger for both the users of the vehicles that were traveling on the same road. as for the agents themselves, the Civil Guard has indicated in a statement.
After guaranteeing collective safety, the agents identified the driver and only occupant, who "did not cooperate at any time" with the agents' instructions and who, in addition, showed obvious signs of drunkenness. Finally, the Civil Guard patrols escorted the truck safely until it was located at one of the exits closest to the A-7 Highway.
The 38-year-old detainee, investigated for crimes against road safety for driving recklessly and under the influence of alcoholic beverages and for disobedience to law enforcement officials, has been placed at the disposal of the court as Vera's guard. (Almeria).
