The young woman killed by a pack attack: "Mom, the dogs are coming!"

Arancha Corcero Girón is the name of the 27-year-old girl who this Monday was the victim of a fatal attack by a pack of herding dogs while she was walking in the countryside of her town, Roales del Pan, near Zamora. Arancha was having a telephone conversation with her mother when she suffered the tragic attack.

"Mom, the dogs are coming, the dogs are coming!" It was the last cry for help that the young woman uttered. Her mother could hear all the aggression. Even though, after her call, her mother rushed to the border area of the towns of Roales del Pan, La Hiniesta and Cubillos, she did not arrive in time to save her daughter.

The victim's relatives and acquaintances have spoken out in recent hours, lamenting the tragic situation and remembering who Arancha Corcero was. "She was very studious, intelligent, quiet, reserved, smiling and very kind to everyone, she participated in the town's things," recalled David García, mayor of Roales, who insisted on the great future that the victim had ahead of her. .

The family is currently receiving psychological help from the services of the Junta de Castilla y León. "They are a family of workers, humble and good people," described García, who has declared three days of mourning in the town to say goodbye to such an unexpected march. The entire town mourns his loss.

Five herding dogs, mastiffs and Leonese careas. Five dogs were Arancha's executioners when they pounced on her without warning. According to some residents of the area, these animals had, on some previous occasion, been involved in a moment of tension with other residents of the area. Despite this, the mayor assured that there are no previous official complaints in this regard.

Even so, García does not forget to mention that the breeds of these specimens "are prepared to defend themselves against wolves," which is a threat present in the Zamorano town.
