The dawn in Cardona, in the Bages region, has been marked by this beautiful flash of light that has colored the clouds, as we can see in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.

In the foreground we can see the equestrian sculpture of Count Borrell II, located in Plaça de la Fira and the work of Josep Maria Subirachs.

This piece, inaugurated in 1986, commemorates the delivery of the Population Charter to the town, in the year 986. The sculpture is made with travertine stone that comes from the quarries of Almería.

The work represents Count Borrell II on horseback and was also erected to mark the millennium of Cardona. The total height is four and a half meters. On top of the foot, measuring one and a half meters, the figure, which measures three meters, is fitted.

The candilazo is a meteorological phenomenon in which the clouds in the sky show a wide palette of colors that ranges from pink to the most intense orange. As part of the phenomenon of dispersion of sunlight, in the morning and afternoon hours, when the sun is closer to the horizon, the light that reaches the Earth is soft tones between red and orange.
