The Valverde case lands in Competition: the sanction could be from four to twelve games

The National Anti-Violence Commission, meeting this Monday morning, decided to transfer the file on Fede Valverde's attack on Alex Baena at the end of the match between Real Madrid and Villarreal at the Bernabéú, to the Competition Committee, which will now begin the procedures to determine the sports sanction that corresponds to the Uruguayan player. The sanction, which will arrive once the parties' allegations are received, can range from four to twelve games.

It should be remembered that Villarreal did not file a complaint, but the Federation Competition Committee has an obligation to act upon receiving the Anti-Violence report.

Competition will meet this Wednesday the 19th and will begin to study the case. The file will also contain the complaint filed by Baena at a police station in Castellón the day after the attack. The processing of the file will last a minimum of a month and a half. If the case is opened, the Competition will ask the clubs involved to present allegations, so it is likely that, if there is a sanction, part of it must be fulfilled next season.

Madrid is silent about the incident. The white club has seamlessly embraced its Uruguayan player, considering the issue a "personal and closed" case. Valverde has also received all the love from the Bernabéu in recent games. Alex Baena and Valverde's partner, the Argentine journalist, Mina Bonino, got involved in social networks with crossed statements.
