The Urgell canal campaign begins with little demand from irrigators thanks to the rains

The Urgell canal campaign began this Monday but with little demand for water from irrigators thanks to the rains. According to the president of the irrigation community, Amadeu Ros, only a little less than 10,000 hectares of the most "grabby" areas of Urgell had been asked to irrigate and for that reason and given the forecast that it will rain throughout the week and above all During the next weekend, in the next few hours a reduction in flow or the closure of the canal until April will be decided to save water.

Ros has celebrated that the "situation is looking very good" since if irrigation is delayed it is most likely that they will have 3 hydros (that is, 3 irrigations) and therefore the restrictions will not be as severe as last year.
