Automobiles with diesel engines continue to enjoy a significant role in our market. During the first eight months of 2023, they represent 24.31% of total sales, a percentage that corresponds to 184,505 units. At the moment, during this year 2023, more diesel cars have been sold than in the same period of 2022.
In total, the diesel market in the first eight months of 2023 shows sales of 83,611 units, results that easily exceed the records achieved jointly by 100% electric models and plug-in hybrids. The figures for each model also correspond to the registrations accumulated between the months of January and August of this year 2023.
The SUV segment concentrates a high percentage of these sales. The excellent response that these engines usually offer from low revolutions is an important added value in vehicles that tend to have a high weight. Models such as the Renault Clio or the Audi A3 are also in high demand, whose low consumption invites high annual mileages.
