The strike in Renfe forces the cancellation of 300 long and medium distance trains this Friday

Renfe has canceled 310 long and medium distance trains, including AVE, scheduled for this Friday due to the strike called by CC.OO.

For the day, the minimum services on Cercanías are 75% during peak hours (from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) and 50% for the rest of the day. In the case of Media Distancia, 65%; in AVE and Long Distance 73% and in merchandise 25%.

Travelers can check the schedules and see the trains that run on the Renfe website. Those who have purchased a ticket with a seat reservation receive an SMS and email if their train is affected, company sources report.

In the case of Rodalies de Catalunya, essential services are 66% during peak hours (06:00 to 09:30 and 17:00 to 20:30) and 33% during the rest of the day.

If Renfe cancels a long or medium-distance train, it is offered "whenever possible" to travel on another train at the time closest to the purchased ticket. If you do not want to make the trip, you can cancel or change the date at no cost through any of the company's sales channels.

CC.OO., the majority union in Renfe, maintains the call for this day of strike in the railway company in protest of the Ministry of Finance's blockade of the agreement reached with the operator's management for the elimination of entry categories. The strike also continues in Adif, although contacts with the companies are “constant” and “deals” are being made with the ministries involved, which could lead to the strike being called off, Servimedia reports.

With the CC.OO strike. aims to demand the unblocking of the agreements that affect each of the public railway companies. One of the reasons that led to the mobilization is the elimination of the income categories in the case of Renfe after six months have passed since the agreement of the negotiating commission of the third collective agreement.

Another reason for the protest is the implementation of the 35-hour day in Adif, an agreement reached between the company and the legal representation of the workers annulled by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
