The spirit of Sant Galderic returns to Ivorra

Cloudy landscapes today in the Segarra region, which have gone very well for a midday walk around Ivorra, where the Sant Galderic fair is held, as we see in The Readers' Photos of La Vanguardia.

Sant Galderic or Sant Galdric (Vilavella, current Sant Galderic, Carcassonès, 820 - Sant Martí del Canigó, Conflent, 900) was a peasant who is venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church.

We can see some of the stalls at this year's fair, which have increased compared to the previous edition, with artisan products, such as sausages.

But one of the great attractions at this farmers' fair are the tractors, which have caught the attention of visitors, exposed to the public.

We can appreciate some details of this fair. Can you imagine that in this pot with a small fire we boil the water? Well, the inhabitants of Ivorra that we see around the pot surely do.

The boys and girls of the town have their own stall to sell their bracelets; Now, if they are not there, everything is abandoned, including the collection.

We can see the painting section of the fair, in this case, with a girl enjoying this workshop that is part of the activities of this celebration in Ivorra.

Also striking is the fair's commemorative cup, which is the same as the previous edition. It is very useful as a drink and, also, a good souvenir.

Galderic was a peasant who defended the rights of the peasants, protecting them from the abuse and mistreatment of the lords. With fairs like this his legacy still survives.
