The special charm of Puig-agut among the frost

Snow and frost around Puig-agut, in Malleu, in the Osona region. The frosty fields and snow-capped mountains give a winter color to the landscape that surrounds this popular sanctuary, as we see in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

In addition to being a place with a lot of history, Puig-agut has great architectural beauty that stands out among the landscape, which attracts everyone's attention and is an object of desire for photography fans.

It is a beautiful neo-Gothic style hermitage included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia. It is dedicated to Lourdes and Saint Joseph, but it is better known because it was the first sanctuary of its kind in Spain to be dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

It is strategically located on top of a hill at 696 meters above sea level, the highest point in the municipality of Manlleu. The building is made up of two chapels, the one on the right is dedicated to Saint Joseph and the one on the left is dedicated to the Virgin.

Its windows decorated with beautiful stained glass stand out, as well as its dome, which is externally covered by an orthogonal green pyramid. Furthermore, the façade of this temple faces south.

Being at a high point and having everything clear around it, it stands out among the landscape, now dyed white by the frost.
