The seaside neighborhoods of València are dedicated to Holy Week

The neighborhoods of Cabanyal, Canyamelar and Grau are celebrating Marine Holy Week these days, with the participation of 31 brotherhoods, brotherhoods and corporations, coordinated by the Mayor's Board of the festival. Singular acts of the different entities and parishes, such as some live Stations of the Cross, meetings of the Christs of the Savior and Savior and Amparo, or the prayer for the deceased sailors on the beach on Good Friday Morning; processions of Silence or the Live Meeting of the Virgin Mary with the Holy Christ of the Afflicted this Holy Thursday.

The festival, declared of National Tourist Interest in 2011, hosts this afternoon the act of the Prophecy inside the Temple of Santa María del Mar, starting at 8 p.m. and various processions, such as the Silence procession or the Torch procession. During the various events, 3,077 brothers participate (1,405 men, 1,672 women and 523 boys and girls) and the representation of nearly 500 biblical characters.

“It is curious to approach Cabanyal, Canyamelar and Grau these days and perceive that four processions may be taking place at the same time in very nearby streets,” highlights the festival councillor, Mónica Gil (Vox), who values ​​knowing about Holy Week. Sailor and its attractions. "Listen to the sound of the drums, feel the smell of incense, contemplate the colorful costumes of the different groups and their biblical characters, touch the images and taste the typical cuisine of the seaside neighborhoods, which is a unique immersive experience," he describes. she.

A diverse offer coordinated by the four parishes: Rosario, Los Ángeles, Cristo Redentor-San Rafael Arcángel and Santa Maria del Mar in the seaside neighborhoods of the city and that also attracts numerous tourists to the maritime area. For this reason, the Beach Service of the Valencia City Council has also planned a health care, rescue and lifeguard device in Malva-rosa and Cabanyal from this Holy Thursday until Easter Monday.

Thus, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., the city's beaches will have a lifeguard boat, emergency technicians and a health post equipped with medical personnel and an ambulance.

The person also responsible for Beaches, Mónica Gil, highlights that these upcoming Easter holidays "the presence of personnel and services on the beaches will be reinforced to guarantee the safety and surveillance of both Valencians and the tourists that our city attracts thanks to the good time".
