The sad daffodils of the Santa Fe swamp

In Santa Fe del Montseny we can attend the spectacle of the flowering daffodils, but this spring, unlike last year, the swamp is much emptier, giving a sadder image, as can be seen in this report in Las Fotos de los Lectores from The Vanguard.

There is not only little water in the reservoir, but also in the surrounding streams. Still, daffodils that grow naturally in this setting look pretty lovely.

The daffodil is a very showy Mediterranean flower and from which, in addition, essences for perfumes are extracted.

It grows in the natural environment of the Santa Fe stream dam, a tributary of the Tordera River, where nature offers us a spectacle of ocher, orange and red tones in the middle of the mountains.

The reservoir is located in the municipality of Fogars de Montclús. In this area is the hermitage of Santa Fe, from the 13th century, and the Hotel Santa Fe, from 1914, about a thousand meters above sea level.
