The revival of the streets of Shanghai

Life in Shanghai has stopped for the last two months, leaving its 26 million inhabitants in their homes since last March. What began as a week-long, districtwide lockdown quickly turned into a mass lockdown intended to stem China's largest wave of infections on record.

The reopening of the great Chinese city has been in the making for weeks, with the Government taking measures to guarantee the gradualness of the de-escalation of the confinement. The return to activity of shopping centers with reduced capacity, schools and public transport services are some of the measures that guarantee a return to normality. The economic ravages associated with this type of sanitary measures will not pass by Shanghai, so these first weeks will be decisive for the recovery of the megapolis.
